This is a "soft dom" Lee Bodecker fanfic. Will be mature in nature. Warnings will be posted as needed. Reuploaded 9/18.
Deal With The Devil- Chapter 1
You hear three loud, quick knocks on the front door. Rushing over, you check yourself in the mirror, fixing your hair and practicing a small smile. Opening the door, you see your fathers friend, Lee Bodecker, standing in front of you. Your father told you a few days prior that Lee would be coming over for dinner. You smiled as you held out your hand to greet him.
"Hi Lee, its nice to meet you". He flashed a broad grin before saying hello in return. Bending down, he removed his shoes and placed them on the small linoleum square before stepping onto the off white shag carpet. You hadn't seen him out of uniform very often, but it was always a nice surprise. A blue button down that brought out more of the blue in his eyes.
A pair of black jeans that hugged his legs just so. Lee came in for a hug and you started to give one tentatively. Even though Lee was a familiar face, you hadn't been around him enough. His proximity is a little too close for comfort, so far. He leaned in closer to you to close the gap.
You finally wrapping your arms lightly around his broad back, the closest you had been to him now. Only ever exchanging handshakes and smiles since you saw him a few weeks ago. Your head started to grow a little hazy as you breathed in some cologne he wore. It was warm, spicy and comforting.
Your eyes closed briefly as you really tried to take in the scent he wore. Before you even knew what happened, you let out a little content moan of relaxation. Instantly your eyes flashed open. Shit. He didnt hear that, did he?
You released yourself from his grasp and he flashed a small smile, his brows knitting in concern. You couldnt tell if it was faux worry or real.
"You alright sweetheart?", he asked. You nodded quickly, wanting to not let him know so soon. You swore, as soon as you hit thirty….you started to look at older men a little differently.
Attractive men in their early forties didn't seem so bad. And Lee definitely fell into that category. As long as they treated you right and had a younger energy about them, maybe you could make it work. At least that's what you like to think. Both of your arms releasing each other, you and Lee made your way into the dining room. The clatter of a few utensils as your mom finished up dinner.
She came out with a broad smile on her face, looking like the content mom and housewife she was meant to be. Carefully setting down the platters of food, she welcomed Lee and told him to sit down and make himself comfortable.
"Thank you Ms. You have a beautiful home", he complimented. He pulled out his seat and sat down, your dad and yourself doing the same. Setting down mashed potatoes, a salad, and a fall apart tender chuck roast.
Your mouth started salivating. You hadn't realized how hungry you were until now. After saying a quick prayer and digging in, the conversation strayed from pleasantries into more interesting territory.
"So Lee, how are you and Jane?", your mother asked. You looked sideways at Lee.
He sighed heavily as if he was trying to avoid this question all night. With a shake of his head, he set down his fork before clearing his throat. "Not good. She said wants a divorce", he anwsered.
Everyone went silent. No one knew what to say.
"Im so sorry", you finally piped up. Lee gave a solemn nod in your direction. Saying there wasn't much to be done but he thanked you anyway. Determined to cheer everyone up despite the circumstances, mom announced she made dessert, a coca cola chocolate fudge cake. You smiled while giving a look in Lee’s direction. He only gave a small sad smile in response, your dad picking up on it. '"Now come on Lee, I know you got a major sweet tooth. She does too”, he said.
Pointing his dinner fork in your direction. Your mom tsked and took away the fork as if it was a weapon, clearing the rest of the dishes with it. “This one loves anything sweet”, your dad mentioned offhandedly. Shaking your head, you gave a half hearted chuckle. Lee had to smile a little at your reaction, turning towards you now.
Trying to shake off his sorrow, he spoke up for the first time after dinner had started. “I love sweets too. Ex wife said I ate too much of em”, he said with a tone of disgust. You looked at him in an attempt to forget his current circumstance, saying, “Well you can never have too much of a good thing, right”, you asked. He gave a genuine smile…just the smallest one, but that was enough for you. “I suppose not”, he said with a hint of lightness to his voice.
Your mother came back with a crystal cake stand as she carefully set it on the table. “It looks so good mom”, your eyes widening, mouth salivating knowing moments from now you can sink your teeth into it. Lee smiled up at your mother, thanking her as she started passing out plates. She acknowledged his praise with a quick grin and started cutting pieces for everyone, sitting down when she was done. After the cake was consumed, wine and beer was given to you and Lee, your parents having drinks of their own.
Everyone sitting down around the TV to wind down before bed. The white glow surrounding the living room in its cocoon of light. Nothing else seemed to exist when everyone was like this. You spared some glances at Lee, whose eyes looked glazed over, like he wasnt fully paying attention. As time passed, you realized you were two glasses deep into the wine.
You should stop. You hardly drank as it is and you were already going to feel like shit tomorrow. But a heavy, roiling feeling in your stomach suddenly made you stop moments after. Only a few sips left of your second glass but your stomach couldnt hold anymore. You stumbled out of your seat, half running to the bathroom and closing the door.
Just barely opening the lid and emptying your stomach into the toilet. You knew you had gone too far. You hardly noticed the knocks on the door until you stopped, shutting the lid, flushing and washing your hands. Eyes locking on Lee across from you, you weren't expecting him there.
"You alright Darlin'?" he asked. Shaking your head, trying to steady yourself against anything that would keep you upright. Your feet fumbled over themselves and Lee's arm reached out to catch you before you fell.
"I feel like shit", your words slurring. He gave a lighthearted little chuckle. "Here, lemme look a'tcha", his fingers carefully moving your face to meet his. Something in his face shifted, noticing how tired you looked.
A crease furrowing his brow, a look of sadness mixed with concern.
He just wanted to help you. He puts his arm underneath one of yours and starts helping you towards the stairs. You hear vague words of concern from your parents. Lee reassured them he'd put you to bed.
Slowly and steadily, you put your feet up to try and help yourself up the set of stairs. "Just take it easy sweetheart. I'm in no rush", you hear Lee say softly in your ear. A few minutes later you both get up the stairs, he makes you sit down and slowly takes off your shoes. He leaves you in your clothes to remain decent. He does his best to make you comfortable.
Getting you a trash can just in case, a bottle of water and some aspirin. "Sweetheart, I can check in on ya if ya need me to. I just…I wanna help and protect ya if I can". Lee stands there nervously, secretly hoping you'll say yes. To his surprise, you said that'd be nice as you laid your head down on the pillow.
He smiled softly, tucking you in carefully, making sure your feet were covered. You were passed out before you heard his husky voice say "I'll be just across the hall if you need me darlin'". As your door softly clicked close, you didn't even hear him leave.

SIX MONTHS LATER ( LATE JUNE )
School was over for the summer. Everyone was doing their own thing, the mall having opened up not too long before the school days finished. Steve had gotten a job at the ice cream parlor Scoops Ahoy! and Y/N had gotten a job at the movies. Dustin was particularly excited about that, claiming that Y/N could get him in to see any of the new films playing over the summer for free. She’d rolled her eyes at the suggestion, but didn’t actually say no. She did get a discount on tickets, and he was her favorite ( only ) cousin.
It was one of Y/N’s days off when she was sitting watching a video she’d rented on the couch, Tews perched in her lap purring contently as Y/N pet the cat. She had no plans until later in the day when Steve was going to take her to dinner. So she was surprised when the phone rang, but got up to answer it.
“Henderson residence! This is Y/N speaking.”
“Y/N, darling! It’s your mother.”
As if Y/N couldn’t recognize the voice to begin with. It had been months since she’d gotten to Hawkins and her parents had jetted off to Europe on yet another save their marriage escapade. The only communication she’d gotten was two or three postcards from different Italian cities. She didn’t mind, though. She preferred to be staying with Claudia and Dustin. Her parents did believe all those awful rumors about her anyway, whereas ever since she got to Hawkins neither Claudia nor Dustin pushed to know her reason for coming to Indiana. Though, Y/N was sure that Claudia had gotten the skewed story from her mother.
“Darling, are you there? The telephone connection is rather poor at the airport, I’m afraid. Y/N?”
Y/N shook her head, clearing her thoughts. “Sorry, mom. I was just thinking. Are you back in New York?”
“We just landed not too long ago, but your father’s having trouble getting us a car.” Her mother’s voice was filled with disdain. Which is always the tone either of her parents took when speaking about the other, at least in private. “How’s small town life?”
“It’s pretty good, actually. I’ve been doing a lot, I even got a job for the summer until school starts back up.”
“Are you staying? Sweetheart, did we discuss our daughter staying with Claudia for another year?” She could tell her mother attempted to pull the phone away from her ear so Y/N couldn’t hear it anymore.
“Another year? I think my sister would be alright with that if we asked. I mean, we’ll send money and the rest of Y/N’s things.”
“But she can be so troublesome! I’m sure something’s happened since we’ve been away.”
“Dear, you’re overthinking this. Let me speak to Y/N.” There’s a scoff from her mother, and she could picture the roll of her eyes but the sounds of shuffling objects must mean that her father got the phone. “Pumpkin, are you still there?”
“Yup. How was Italy?”
“Excellent. We’ll get the film developed and send you some pictures, I got you some souvenirs I’m sure you’ll love too.”
“Could you stay on topic for once!” She heard her mother hiss in the background, more than likely hovering behind her father’s shoulder as he spoke into the phone.
“Yes, apologies.” He paused, probably holding back a sigh, before speaking again. “Pumpkin, are you certain you’d like to stay in Hawkins? I’ll have to speak to Claud about it either way.”
“I do. It feels like home, daddy.” Y/N explained. She’d never felt more at home, more welcomed, more herself than when she spent time in Hawkins. And now that she’d been there for months and was making progress with her own friends and had Steve too, she didn’t want to leave.
“Alright. Leave a note for your aunt to call me back and I’ll discuss it with her. I just want you to be happy, Y/N.”
“I’m writing the note now. Thanks. This really means everything to me.” Y/N scribbled down a note on the pad by the phone before tearing it off and moving to put it with one of the magnets onto the fridge door.
“Be sure to keep in touch, okay? I want to hear all about this summer job next time we call.”
“Of course, dad. I love you.”
“Love you too, pumpkin.”
A few days later, Y/N was getting things set up at home for Dustin’s return from his camp. Claudia had offered for her to go along to pick him up from the camp, but Y/N declined, opting to get things set up at home. Dustin’s friends had all called her on the walkie talkie in Dustin’s room the night before to ask if they could come over to surprise him. And, of course, she said yes.
She was getting a couple of snacks ready to put on the living room table as she overheard the kids conversation. El would use Dustin’s robotic toys to draw his attention to bring him out into the living room for the surprise. They talked about it freely because Y/N knew about her powers now.
It had come two months earlier back in April on one particularly rainy day. Steve was dropping Y/N back at home and he refused to come in when asked, “They’re going to want me to stay the night too.” He had groaned, to which Y/N laughed and kissed her boyfriend goodnight before coming back in the house. Though she hadn’t been able to find the kids at first, she heard their voices coming from upstairs in Dustin’s room. The moment that she saw them sitting there on the floor surrounded with a couple of objects floating in the air, she was cut off with his door slamming in her face before she could say anything.
They had to tell her after that, Y/N was too confused and had definitely seen what she knew she saw. But she was sworn to secrecy. All they told her was that El ( Eleven, or Jane now, according to the birth certificate that Hopper had gotten for her ) had been an experiment as a baby and came out with telekinetic powers. Of course, Y/N thought it was crazy. And then El had demonstrated the power for her specifically to understand.
Since then, the kids almost felt like Y/N was more included. The way she’d reacted to Eleven’s powers wasn’t what they had expected. They may have expected a bit more of a reaction, but all Y/N had needed was a simple explanation of the powers, a quick show of what they had meant, and then she was quick to believe what it was.
Not that they thought anything was going to happen again, the gate was closed, but if something did happen, they would figure that Y/N could help them too.
Then, a couple of days later, Y/N was at the mall having finished her own work for the day at Scoops Ahoy! sitting in the break room with Steve, chatting about nothing in particular, when Dustin had shown up, Y/N had was glad that she’d timed her lunch break accordingly and watched as Steve jumped up from his seat in the back to go and greet her cousin. She followed behind, opening the window and leaning out to watch the exchange with a smile on her face. She even giggled as she watched Robin roll her eyes and look at Steve.
“How many children are you friends with?” she asked, before turning back to look at Y/N. “How many kids does this guy know?”
“Technically, this ones my cousin. Hey Dusty!” she called with a slight wave from where she stood in the break room and Dustin turned to her shining his bright smile in her direction.
“Don’t these children have parents of their own or is it you two?” Robin asked quietly as she leaned back to look at her.
Y/N stood over with Robin who was cleaning as Steve prepped Dustin his own ice cream boat. He’d offered to have Y/N sit with them, but she’d kissed his cheek and told him to catch up with her cousin. They’d had a similar conversation the night before, her and Dustin. She wondered how Steve would feel about the whole Suzie situation. Y/N was positive Dustin was telling the truth, simply because she knew her cousin and wanted to believe the best thing for him. She’d been having a side conversation with Robin, whom she’d grown to consider a friend after spending a lot of her free time ( and lunch breaks ) down at Scoops with Steve.
When the line at Scoops got busy again, Y/N escaped into the back room. She wasn’t technically supposed to walk back their freely, or even at all, but no one had stopped her.
Somehow, she wasn’t exactly surprised when Steve and Dustin came bursting through the door, Dustin sitting down at the table and pulling out a recording and a book. She grabbed the book quickly and looked between the two of them, “Russian to English translations? What are you two idiots doing now?”

Pairing: Arthur Morgan x Reader
A/N: YEEHAW MY FELLOW SLUTS! ENJOY! Also, idk what they called panties back then so I just went with panties, ok?
Two months later and you had fallen completely in love with the man. You both had told yourselves you wouldn’t let it get that far but it was nearly impossible. Every time you would see each other he had something to give you, be it a new drawing of yourself, wildflowers he had found out in the woods, or some suspiciously expensive jewelry that he wouldn’t talk about.
He hadn’t planned on any of it, really, but multiple times a day he would see something that reminded him of you and he just knew he had to take it. Even the jewelry he had stolen from the folks who were unlucky enough to start a fight with him.
After a while of successfully sneaking around the day came you’d both been expecting. Your father caught him.
It wasn’t in the way you’d thought it would happen, thankfully. He didn’t walk in on the two of you or catch Arthur climbing up to your room or sneaking out of it. It was more subtle and less suspicious. The two of you, like the fools you were, were out in broad daylight at the stables on your property. You would go out there regularly to spend time with your horse so you knew your parents wouldn’t question you being down there.
You should have known being that comfortable sneaking around was just asking to be caught. And sure enough, you were.
“(Y/N)? Who is this?”
You fucking twitched. When you turned around you saw your father standing behind you with a look of concern on his face and one of the stable boys watching the whole thing go down. You had given him some money earlier to keep his mouth shut and he sure was getting more than he asked for.
“Howdy mister!” Arthur waved and stepped past you. “Remember me? I stopped by here a while back to ask for some directions.”
Your father squinted and reluctantly shook his hand. Suddenly realization spread across his features as it all clicked. “Oh! Yes!” He laughed and clapped Arthur’s shoulder. “How have you been? Ever find your way?”
“Sure did, thanks to you. I was in town and was asking around, looking to buy some good horses, and a few folks told me you were the man to talk to.” You looked at Arthur with parted lips, in shock at how good of a liar he was. He turned a potential disaster into the most casual and normal interaction without the slightest effort. It was kind of scary.
Your father laughed and nodded, crossing his arms proudly. “You’ve come to the right place, follow me.”
Arthur tossed you a wink and you had to smile then, dumbfounded by how smoothly the whole thing went.
***
After your father had whisked Arthur away to the expensive section of your stables you went back home. Your mother was preparing dinner along with one of the ranch hands, which surprised you. When you questioned why he was there she explained he was making his mother’s famous gumbo, your mother insisted upon it after she had sent some over to your family.
When dinner rolled around your father made it back just in time, a surprise guest at his heels.
“Jane, you remember this man, don’t you? He was the fellow on the white horse who asked for directions to-”
“Of course I do!” She wiped her hands with a kitchen rag, walking into the main room where the two men stood.
You stood up from the kitchen table to watch the whole thing play out, locking eyes with Arthur who just shrugged.
“He came down today to buy a horse from us!” Your father said as he closed the front door behind them. “And to congratulate him on his purchase I’ve invited him to stay for dinner.”
Your mother smiled happily, it wasn’t often you had visitors that weren’t your families prude friends or relatives. “Good! We’re having gumbo tonight, Thomas is cooking his mother’s very own recipe.”
“Oh!” Your father raised his brows. “The one she sent over yesterday?”
“That’s the one.”
“Brilliant! I loved that.”
The two of them talked for a while before Thomas announced the soup was done and your mother went back into the kitchen to help him serve. Your father excused himself to wash up, telling you and his guest to have a seat in the dining room.
You sat down next to Arthur and gave him a look.
“What?” When he finally noticed you looking at him he furrowed his brows.
“How did you manage that?”
“Manage what?”
You snorted, rolling your eyes. “Come on. You’re the best liar I’ve ever met.”
Arthur shrugged, taking the glass of water that Thomas set down in front of him.
“You must not of met a lot of people then.”
“All right, then. Keep your secrets.”
He chuckled and set the glass back down on the table after taking a few generous sips. “Before we almost got ourselves killed, I was going to give you somethin’.” Another gift? He reached in his pocket and pulled out a small folded piece of paper. “Don’t let anyone see that.” He added with a whisper since Thomas had walked in with the rest of the drinks.
You smiled at him and slowly unfolded the paper in your lap under the table. Once you had it done you squinted before realizing it was upside down. You flipped it the right way and your face was suddenly burning. Your breath caught in your throat as you took it all in, quickly folding it back up when your mother walked into the room carrying the giant pot of soup.
The urge to punch him was strong. Why did he have to give that to you then? Why couldn’t he wait? You slipped the paper in the front pocket of your dress and cleared your throat.
Arthur chuckled and took another sip of water, smiling sweetly at your mother as she started filling everyone's bowls. “Thank you, ma’am.”
It was impossible to get the image out of your head. It was a drawing of you, completely naked, lying on your stomach with your head resting on your folded arms, your legs kicked up and locked at the ankles. You were looking directly into the viewer’s eyes with a wicked smirk on your face, some of your hair in your face. Once again you looked utterly magnificent, your body drawn in a way that accentuated every part of you perfectly. If it wasn’t a drawing of you, you probably would have gotten off to it. You probably would anyway, knowing Arthur was the one who drew it.
“What horse did you end up buying, Mr…”
“Arthur. The young brown mustang, think your husband called him Taro.”
Your mother nodded and sat down at the opposite end of the table when she was finally done serving. You wished she would let you help with dinner but she was firm in her belief, not allowing you or your father to help her in the slightest.
It was another ten minutes before your father finally joined you, taking his seat beside his wife. “Please excuse me, got carried away with my hair again.” He laughed and eagerly started eating. Your mother shared a laugh with him, chiding him lightly about how vain he was.
Most of dinner was fine, you all talked about the usual dinner subjects such as work, the weather, and town gossip. You barely paid attention though, the image of you drawn naked was stuck in your mind, along with the idea of Arthur drawing it. You wondered if he had done it in the heat of a lust filled moment or if it was just something normal to him.
What finally snapped you out of your thoughts was the feeling of a hand on your knee. You brushed it off at first, it seemed innocent enough, he had done it plenty of times before when the two of you laid together. It wasn’t inherently sexual.
But then he moved his hand lower, brushing his fingers against the hem of your dress. You looked at him with a subtle glance but he refused to acknowledge you at all.
Crossing your legs you tried to get him to stop but that didn’t deter the cowboy at all. He pulled your dress up just enough to slip his hand under the fabric, then let the hem fall back down over his arm. You wanted to curse him out but you held your tongue and tried to act as natural as possible, taking another spoonful of soup into your mouth.
“So, Arthur, you never told us what you do for a living.” Your father said after sending one of the kitchen maids to bring out a bottle of wine.
His hand traveled up to your thighs, his fingers gently rubbing circles over your skin. “Oh, well, it’s nothin’ excitin’. I work for a man collecting debts from people. Good money.”
“Oh!” Your father acted impressed, shrugging and exchanging a look with your mother.
“If that isn’t exciting, I wonder what is to you!” Your mother laughed and so did your father.
‘Maybe fingering your daughter five feet away from you.’ You thought as you shifted in your seat, thankful for how high the table was. If it was any lower surely they would see that the lower half of his arm was extended towards you.
Slowly, extremely slowly, his hand continued it’s journey upwards. You forced yourself to keep a straight face, even when you felt the tips of his fingers brush against your panties. ‘No problem,’ you told yourself, feeling him pull the fabric aside so he could touch you better. ‘No big deal.’
Arthur rubbed slow circles into your clit with a firm amount of pressure, but not quick or firm enough to get you anywhere fast. And he knew it, too. He ate his second bowl of soup just as normally as he did the first, showing no signs of the fact that his fingers were about to be stuffed inside of you.
You liked to think you looked just as calm as he did. You had finished your soup and were waiting for everyone else to so your mother could bring out dessert, and then you could finally leave the table. If only Arthur would hurry up and finish his meal.
The small talk carried on and left almost no silence which worked to your advantage. If they were quiet they probably would hear how fast your breathing had gotten, especially when Arthur pushed that first finger inside of you. You had to practically bite through your tongue to keep the moan silenced.
“(Y/N), you’re quiet, for once. Are you sick?” Your father joked and everyone laughed, including Arthur. That bastard.
“I’m fine, just like listening to you all talk.” You said quickly, surprised at how even and calm your voice sounded. Almost as if you weren’t being finger fucked.
That seemed to satisfy them enough and they carried on with conversation.
Normally at dinner, you rarely drank any wine, since you were never able to just have one glass. It always led to two, or sometimes even three, and you would end up passed out on your bed hours before you usually would. But tonight you happily drank, finishing the second glass right as Arthur had two fingers curling inside of you.
As hard as you tried not to let yourself orgasm you could feel it approaching rapidly. Arthur could too, noting how your chest rose and fell and how you were twitching around his fingers. He slowed down momentarily, allowing you to catch your breath, before he was right back at it, quicker than before. He had a hard-on of his own but with his belt and gun holster in the way, no one would have the slightest idea, even if they looked right at his crotch. Lucky him.
“Are we ready for dessert?” Your mother's voice scared you out of your wits and you jumped.
“Yes!” You laughed to draw attention away from the fact that you almost spilled your wine.
She left along with the kitchen maid, directing her to get together new sets of dishes.
His fingers curled quicker as he sipped on his wine, keeping his eyes anywhere but your father or you. Your father kept up the small talk, allowing you to give yourself the time to focus on having a discreet and quiet orgasm.
You slowed your breathing as you felt it coming, gripping Arthur’s arm under the table with your left hand as you curled your other hand into a fist around your dress. He looked down at you for a split second, savoring the sight of you as best as he could before he forced himself to look away as to not look suspicious. He gave you a few more deep pumps before you came. The heat and tingles exploded, rippling from your clit and inside your body to your entire form. You bit your lip and looked down, sinking your nails into the skin of his arm. The waves of pleasure that coursed through your body were enough to make anyone scream but you kept your mouth shut and posture still.
When it finally finished you sat back in your seat, running a hand through your hair as you sighed, wiping the sweat off your forehead when your father wasn't looking. Arthur smirked at you and you threw him the angriest glare you could, but you couldn’t keep it for long. When he chuckled you broke out into a smile and you had to look away so you didn’t laugh.
“Here it is!” Your mother said proudly as she carried the pecan pie into the dining room. “Took me all day!”
Arthur made a show of looking impressed and your father praised your mother's cooking to no end, telling her that she was the best cook in the whole west. She smiled proudly and served everyone's plates. Thank god you had already came and Arthur’s hand was back where it belonged.
“I’m going to make you regret that.” You whispered to Arthur as your mother talked about how hard it was to find enough pecans.
“Lookin’ forward to it.”

(Third film. At the courthouse. Bell and Adam are in “discussion” in Hartcourt’s office)
Belle: YOU BASTARD!!!!
Adam: what. What now.
Belle: you cannot take the school. I have been more then generous
Adam: I helped create it!
Belle: IT IS SIGNED IN MY NAME. And. Need I remind you. I had to twist your arm to make it coed and allow non royalty and non humans to be enrolled
Adam: schools are meant for
Belle: everyone! Boy, girls, humans, fairies, dwarves, royal, nob royalty, magic users and mortals alike.
Adam: you said for better or worse
Belle: worse meant if you gambled away our money. Not sinking back into old habits and creating a generational internment camp and becoming little more then the beast you once were
(Adam flips the coffee table in a rage and sends it hurtling into the opposite wall)
Adam: I AM NOT THE BEAST!!!! NOT ANYMORE!!!!
Belle (more calm then she should be): then why did you just throw a table across the room? Mr Hartcourt. I believe we are ready to sign the papers now
Jaques: yes yes. You know where I assume.
Adam: wait
Belle: oh what now!
(This is when “who knew” happens. After the song)
Belle: yeah. Who knew. Who knew you’d devolve into who you were when we met
Adam: you fell in love with that man
Belle: I fell in love with the man who saved me from wolves. Not the creature who threatened to starve me because I refused to dine with him. And certainly not the man who imprisoned innocent children on an island hellscape for two decades. But to you it’s all the same thing isn’t it?
(Adam doesn’t respond)
Belle: See. No answer. Let’s get these papers signed
(On the island)
Mal (on the tv): IM ENGAGED!!!! HAHAHAHA
(On a BarcaLounger a woman with electric blue hair and punk clothes wakes up. And tips over backwards)
Hades: JESUS FUCK! (She snorts and tips the right way up again). Tv rewind! Heh heh. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
(From somewhere in the abode)
Hadie (dressed in smudged eyeliner, silk robe, and hair a mess): I just got in ten minutes ago and you’re yelling oh shit. She did it
Hades: my girl did it.
Hadie: Iris is with the dwarf right?
Hades: that’s Hestia my boy
Hadie: and Icarus?
(Hades doesn’t answer)
Hadie: Oh. Well he lived a good life
Hades: your brother was 18 when he sank beneath
Hadie: I said good not long
Hades: ah yeah right. OOH! Iris needs an engagement present from dear old dad
(Her form melts from Eva Green to Jesse L Martin and starts rummaging through the mountains of detritus in the lair)
Hades: ok now where was it
Hadie: no.
Hades: no what?
Hadie: no you can’t. It could kill her. Iris could very well be the uniting force between Auradon and this trash hole. And doing anything to harm that would be stupid shortsighted and just plain fucking annoying.
Hades: how can you say all that with a hangover.
Hadie: reed root.
Hades: ohhhh. Byeeeeee
(He’s engulfed by electric blue flame)
Hadie: no. NononononoGARGH!!!! Fucking deity
(Back in Auradon. The celebration is in full swing. Doug and Evie have commandeered the dance floor. Carlos is being traumatised by Ben’s dad dancing. Jay’s trying to make “dancing in the moonlight” even louder then it currently is. Everyone’s having fun but dizzy who’s desperately trying to get to Mal, who’s giving Jane a little taster of her lady marmalade performance)
Dizzy: aunt Mal! What are you doing
Mal (abruptly standing up): nothing your mother needs to know about. Especially when your present. Jane dear drink your water
(Jane, eyes as wide as dinner plates, takes a sip of water)
Mal: now. What is it you wanted me for kid?
Dizzy: it’s Celia
Mal (the smile melts from her face): what? What’s wrong?
Dizzy: just. Just come on and help me. Please aunt Mal. Please?
Mal: of course. Yes. I will. Where is she?
Dizzy: our room. She’s in a bad way and
(Mal teleports them to Dizzy’s room then has to duck as a draw comes flying at her. Celia’s tearing the room apart growing more and more frantic with each passing second)
Celia: where is it where is it. I can’t have lost it. Please be here. Please be here. Please
Mal (tentatively): Celia? Are you ok?
Celia (thickly): go away. I don’t want you here. Go away.
Dizzy: Mal has the sceptre. She could use it to help
Celia (feeling betrayed): you brought her here. Why?
Mal (taking the heat for Dizzy): because. I have a little experience with losing things. Things that shouldn’t be lost. Magic. Books. Temper. I could help you. Only if you want to though
Celia (face crumpling): I lost it
Mal: lost what honey?
Celia: my cane. I thought I packed it. My dad made it for me. It’s like it’s like
Mal: a security blanket? Helps you sleep? Calms you down when you’re stressed?
(Celia nods tearfully)
Mal: well alright then. Dizzy could you go to the mini fridge? There should be some soda there
Dizzy: sure
Mal: now. You drink this. And take a nap. I’ll be right here with you. And then when you’re feeling better we can make a plan. Sound good?
Celia (feeling a little better): yeah
(Later. Ben poofs in looking for Mal)
Mal: what in gods name are you wearing and can you wear it more often?
Ben: jay stole my clothes and the twins think my crown has chocolate in it
Mal: why did jay steal your clothes.
Ben: bachelor party
Mal: ohhhh right. Where’s he gonna take you? A frat house manned by Homer Simpson?
Ben: I think ro Rome was mentioned.
Mal: you think it was mentioned?
Ben: double clothes change
Mal: hope you had water on hand. (Looks at his hat). Or beer.
(Ben smiles at her sheepishly. She chuckles)
Celia: what in the name of the Other Side are you wearing
Ben (barely able to stop himself from laughing): important king clothes?
Celia: looks like a burial shroud
(Bal collapse into laughter, Celia joins in right after. Jay poofs in wearing the same thing as Ben)
Mal (still laughing): now this. This works on jay.
Ben (choking on laughter): built like a Greek god
Celia: are they always like this?
Jay: sometime. Never on Saturdays though.
Celia: ah.
(Mal eventually calms down, Ben is still laughing)
Mal: what can we do you for?
Jay: well you disappeared. Then Ben disapperead. You guys are engaged. It’s a party. Have fun. Come on back down to the entrance yard. Everyone’s waiting for you.
Mal: well. Everyone should be in one place so I can tell them
Jay: tell them what?
(Two minutes, a teleportation and an announcement later)
Evie: you’re going WHERE?
Mal: the island. Celia forgot something and she needs it. So I’m going to go with her to get it
Carlos: are you absolutely sure?
Mal (cupping his face in her hands): it’s sweet that you care. But I’m sure. If it doesn’t work you (pointedly to Evie) and only you have my express permission to say “I told you so”
Carlos: I’d like that. I’d really like that
Jay: we’re coming too
Ben: seconded
Devie and Carlos: thirded
Mal: I couldn’t ask you to do that.
Evie: oh M. You’re not asking. We’re telling. Because last time you fucked off ben almost teared the steering wheel off in the limo. The he yelled at me
Dizzy: you were kind of to blame mom
Mal: hey Celia. On the way there. I’m sure Ben and Doug would love to see the cards
Celia (feeling much better now): if they’re prepared to pay up
Dizzy: you can take it out of my allowance
Doug: your allowance is half of my allowance
Dizzy: right.
Ben: I’ll pay for both of us
Celia: anyway is ok with me
Mal: lets go then
Gil: uhhhh. Can I stay here. I don’t wanna leave my boys again
Ben: sure bud
Dizzy: I’m coming with you guys
Devie: no.
Dizzy: why the hell not
Doug: because we won’t be there long
Gil: ah don’t worry Dizz. You can stay with us. Lonnie and I’ll be fencing.
Dizzy: I guess staying here won’t be so bad
Doug (sardonically): of course
Celia: I think she should come with us. She’s my best friend.
(Mal and Evie look at each other trying not to laugh)
Mal: the choice is up to Dizzy
Dizzy: I stay here
Evie: alright then. Let’s go
(Once on the island
Celia: well I just made forty bucks so I’m feeling much better
Ben: there’s plenty more where that came from
Facillier: you do know that she’ll hold you to that
Celia: DAD!
(She runs up to her dad who picks her up)
Facillier: I do hope she hadn’t caused you any trouble
Mal: no. Don’t worry. We’re just back so Celia can grab something she forgot
Celia: my cane
(The other four vks faces pale)
Carlos (venom in his voice): what
Celia: my cane. I can’t sleep without it
Mal: ok. We’re leaving. And your lucky I don’t burn this place to the ground. And you along with it. “Shadow man”
Facillier (perplexed): wait what? What are you talking about
Doug: uh doctor facillier. I um. I think my family may have got their wires crossed. Evie. Honey. Walking stick.
Evie: what. (She follows Doug’s line of sight) ohhhh. Urgh. Our bad
Celia: dad made it for me. I can’t sleep without it
Mal: right. Um. You go get it. We’ll wait right here
(Celia runs off. Leaving the others standing around awkwardly)
Ben: Doctor Facillier. I am so sorry that we thought
Facillier: please your majesty. Call me Antoine. And don’t be sorry. It’s nice to see that Auradon has done something good for the isle children. You’ll be back next Saturday I assume
Ben: of course. And you can call me Ben if you like
Facillier (dryly): ah ha. I’d rather not
Ben (seeing he’s outstayed his welcome): oookay
Carlos: hey dad. Wanna see me neat Doug at the games?
Doug: nice try C. But I’m a professional dancer
Carlos: so am I.
Ben: that means you’re evenly matched. Should be interesting. C’mon. K OK yes see who wins. Malta holidays the reward
(Elsewhere. A short-ish brunette pirate is bumbling her way to Mal jay and Evie)
Harriet (her soft voice at odds with her harsh tone): well we’ll well. Lookee what we got ‘ere. The grand high bitch as dinged to grade us with her present
Mal: oh jeez. Hello Harriet.
Harriet (belching): lizard
Mal: ew. How drunk are you woman
Harriet: ......quite
Evie: oh don’t worry. Soon all that (she gestures to the pirates face) will be covered by a death mask
Harriet: you gonna do me in like you did my bruvver?
Jay: oh dear hookette. He deserved what happened to him
Harriet: HE CANT FUCKING SWIM. HE DROWNED. HES DEAD. YOU LOT KILLED HIM. YOU KILLED EM BOTH
Mal: they tried to kill my friends and family. They tried to capsize and drown the entire student body
Harriet: who gives a fuck about them. They never cared about us. Oh but of course. Uma was right. Uma’s always right
Facillier (intervening before the situation escalates): go home Miss Hook. You’re drunk
Harriet: I’ve been drunk for a year Ant
Facillier: that is Doctor Facillier to you. Now get out. Before I throw you out.
Harriet: make me honey
Facillier: I am older than your father
Harriet: hasn’t stopped me befAAAAAAAAAAAAH
(She’s encased in shade and dragged through the floor)
Celia (eyes glowing fuchsia): you guys aren’t the only ones with magic
Evie (squeaking): EEEEEEEEEEE! What was that
Celia: that means he likes you
Mal: who?
Celia: my pet shadow. Skygge. I can keep him right?
Ben: sure
Celia: yes! Bye daddy
Facillier: bye my girl. And remember. Make sure you get your cut
Celia: already got forty bucks.
Facillier: very good girl. Make sure to write
Celia: of course
(As they’re leaving)
Facillier: lady Mal. Can we talk
Mal: sure...?
Facillier: you are in possession of very precious cargo.
Mal: we know.
Facillier: I know the king. And your sister. The genie. Your son. And Doug all know. But I want to make sure that you know. My daughter is very important to me. If anything should happen to her
Mal: it won’t
Facillier (eyes glowing fuchsia): if it should. I shall hold you personally responsible
Mal (eyes glowing emerald green): I understand your concern. And I assure you. It won’t.
Facillier: the first sign of danger you get her out. She will want to fight but you put your foot down. Do you understand Mal?
Mal: yes. I thoroughly understand. Antoine
Facillier (cracking a very wide smile): well then. Congratulations on the engagement. I’m sure you’ll make a great queen.
Mal: thank you
(At the limo)
Evie: god I love...haaaaaa-hooooow you stopped us causing a scene. I really appreciate it.
Doug (knowing what she was going to say): you’re welcome
(He gets in. Mal poofs in and throws her arm around Evie’s shoulder)
Mal: gotta tell eventually kid
Evie: when we’re ready. Old lady
Mal (smirking and secretly proud of her sister): touché
(They both get in the limo and Carlos starts driving away from the isle)

new life, new love || Anne
just got a fic request for this, big time shout out to @abithemusical!!! im actually obsessed with the prompt so im really excited to write this!! this is my second fic ever so ill take any advice anyone might have!!! anywayssss here we go!!
anne had a lot of feelings about being resurrected. After all, she had a hell of a lot left to say after henry’s brutalization. she always had to have the last word, and her final fight was no different. She couldn’t be more eager for the chance to speak her truth to the world.
all that was well and dandy but when it came to her personal life, Anne couldn’t be more confused. first of all, she was devastated to have left Elizabeth behind. although she knew she hadn't abandoned her daughter, starting a new life without her sure felt like it. no amount of research praising elizabeth’s action’s would make her feel better that her baby had to grow up with only Henry to protect her. she shuddered.
then, there was the other aspect. seeing how her last relationship went, Anne wasn't surprised that she was wary to find another man. but that was beginning to be the problem. Anne wasn’t sure that she wanted a man.
she watched as the other queens, now her sisters, started to adjust to the new time. although everyone had changed it was her cousin, Katherine, who's new development had most fascinated her. Kat, the queen rumored to a slut who had slept with many men as a child, was no longer interested in that. pretty soon after they came back, in fact, Kat came out to the family as gay. her and an alternate for the queens, Genesis, started dating. Anne really admired Kat’s bravery in coming out to her new family. But as more and more time passed, Anne started to wonder if she admired Kat for other reasons. While none of the other queens were in relationships, they had each gone on a date or two, and Cleves had been rumored to have a one-night stand after a particularly wild night out. Anne, however, just hadn’t felt the desire to go out with the many men who asked her out.
meanwhile Anne began to make a habit of frequenting the local coffee shop. sometimes she didn’t want to be in the company of the other five queens (kind and caring though they were, they could be a little...stuffy) but didn’t want to be alone in her room. she loved the coffee shop not just for it’s delicious cinnamon buns, but also for the background noise it provided her. sometimes, her thoughts got to be too much and needed the distraction. although the queens were a family, she sometimes felt alone in her new life. as she mulled this over, the barista brought her cinnamon roll over. Anne smiled as the barista-who’s name tag read “Jess”-leaned over her and set the plate down. Jess grinned back and whispered conspiratorially “don’t tell anyone, but there's a little extra frosting on that one”. impulsively Anne responded “then I guess we’d better share it”. surprised for a second, jess beamed and turned to grab another fork.
anne was transfixed as jess’s blonde hair flipped, a bounce in her step as she grabbed the utensil. eyes sparkling as she took a seat next to Anne, Jess said “so what are you doing here anyways? you’ve been here more and more lately. not that I've minded” she winked. Anne, not wanting to dive into her history, brushed it off “I just can’t get enough of these pastries!” mouth full, Jess only laughed. Anne couldn’t help but notice as her nose scrunched as she laughed, how her eyes gleamed, her head tilted back. the two of them discussed the latest ru Paul episode, until Jess stood up. she said “I have to get back to work, but don’t worry. that roll was on me”. she quickly disappeared into the hustle of the store, and Anne decided to walk the long way home. she cheeks flushed, jess’s laugh kept replaying in her mind.
that night, the other queens decided to go out to the new restaurant that had opened down the street. still wanting to be alone, Anne decided to stay home. she started to think about the possibility of her being gay more and more. she was confused-she was pretty dang sure that she had been straight in her previous life. after all, didn’t most of her problems in that life come from her attraction to Henry? or had that only come after her father pushed her to get in his good graces? her thoughts started to torment her. was she faking her marriage with Henry? was she really the manipulative, bitchy home wrecker that some historians made her out to be? was she really gay now, or was she just really jealous of Kat’s happiness? tired of driving herself crazy, Anne decided to stop pacing in her room and get a snack. as she boiled water for a box of Mac and cheese (her usual dinner when parr and Jane weren’t around to cook for her) a certain pink bottle caught her eye. bought by one of the queens in preparation for a party that never happened, it had been abandoned in the back of their cabinets.
Anne’s thoughts began to race. she needed a break from her thoughts and what was the harm? by the time the queens got back from the party rapidly developing at a friends house, Anne would be asleep. she could have a little fun, and there would be no harm!!
she started to hum to herself as she started pouring the drink and finished making her dinner. the song had been in the back of her mind for the whole day but she finally recognized it as “I kissed I girl” by Katy Perry. she must've heard it in one of those pop mashups that Kat played to get an idea of current music.
drinks poured and pasta made, she skipped back to her room. although Jane didn’t approve of her eating in her room, it was just more comfortable. Anne was personally convinced that Mac and cheese in bed was God’s way of apologizing for their past lives, but none of the other queens to share this belief. she took a gulp and turned on “Keeping up with the Kardashians”, pleased that she would have a night away from her thoughts.
just as she was starting the third episode she heard a knock on the door. grumbling as she paused the tv, she tightened her robe and opened the door. she was shocked to see Jess standing there, quickly pulling her hair out of the two messy spacebuns (as parr affectionately called them) that they had been in. jess quickly said “hi! sorry if this is weird, but you left your wallet in the store this afternoon. It had your drivers permit on it so I found your address”. Anne grabbed the wallet gratefully, not even aware that it was missing. she engulfed jess in a hug, and couldn’t help but notice her sweet but faint perfume. as they awkwardly broke apart, Anne said “well...do you want to come in? I’m having a bit of a wine night” and then instantly regretted it. why was she telling this stranger that she was drinking alone?” Jess replies “although that sounds like something I need right about now, my dogs are definitely wondering where I am.” Shyly she continued” I need to get home to feed them but if you want to get a drink sometime, I would really like that”. she pulled out a spare napkin from her barista apron and wrote her number. she winked and left, leaving Anne stunned. what had just happened?? she had been looking for a peaceful night away from those thoughts-that she might not be straight-but they were back in full force. was jess coming on to her or was she just being friendly? head spinning, she took another gulp of the drink she had poured.
she couldn’t get jess’s golden-brown hair, how she had beamed at her earlier that day, how she felt as they hugged. lost in her thoughts, she didn’t notice that the other queens had decided to come home early from the party. they found her day dreaming on the couch, clutching an old napkin. Jane shut off the tv and put a concerned hand on her forehead. “are you feeling okay? what’s gotten into you, love?” Anne slurred back “you have pretty hair, but not as pretty as their hair”. confused, the other queens gathered around. Cleves, the first to understand what she meant, let out a shriek. “Anne’s got a new man!!!!” I think she's been drinking about a new boyfriend!!!” excitedly, the queens started bickering about who he could be. “the guy that checks our mikes before shows?” guesses Aragon. “the hot one from down the hall? “shoots back Cleves. Even in her state, Anne notices that Kat is the only one that stays silent, and grabs her hand. pulling her closer, she clumsily whispers “I've got a secret to tell them. you already figured it out”. Kat knew instantly what she meant, and stumbled back. the other queens watched in silent confusion as Kat jumped up and down for a few seconds, then threw herself on top of Anne in a bear hug. Anne muttered “I think im going to be sick...” and her stomach lurched, but she hugged Kat back tightly. Parr finally said “kid come on. Tell us!!!” and Anne slyly states “well Cleves was half right... I was drinking it over a new someone. but that someone is a she, not a he. as she realized what she had just announced to her six closest friends, her stomach lurched again. this time, she wasn’t so lucky, and that nights Mac and cheese (along with a pint of ben and Jerrys) came up onto the floor. “I guess I didn't exactly measure how much I put in that drink” she muttered weakly.
sighing, Jane and Parr each grabbed an arm. this wasn't the first time they had to help Anne out after a long night, but this is most definitely the first time that Anne is in pajamas, not a killer outfit. Parr went to get new clothes, and Jane helped Anne clean herself off. as she waited for the water to heat up, Jane rubbed Anne’s back. they stayed there for a moment, until Jane heard Anne whimper. tears escaping her, Anne wordlessly clutched onto Jane, and they stayed like that for a moment. parr returned, and the three worked quickly to get Anne ready for bed. stumbling down the hallway, the Jane and Parr got Anne tucked into bed. parr left the room and Jane slowly followed. as she crossed the threshold, she stopped for a second and whispered “love, you know that I’ll always love you. always. no matter who you chose to love, ill always chose to love you”. half asleep, a smile broke out across Anne’s face as she drifted off.

Only Words Bleed (Chapter Six)
Camila’s POV
“Wait…what?”
I now sat straight, disbelieving that I had finally admitted what I felt. I smiled vaguely and gave Dinah a minute to let it all sink in.
“What do you mean ‘he’s not Lauren’?”
“I literally mean that Connor is not Lauren.”
“Oh my god, Mila! You like Lauren?”
“Sssshhh…don’t let the world hear you. Quiet.”
“How can I remain silent when my best friend finally likes a person?! I better call the Vatican cause this shit is important,” she shouted while standing up.
“I need to tell Mani and Ally…they’ll be stoked.”
“What?! Hey - no. I’m not ready to tell anyone.”
“You told me.”
“Well, yeah cause you forced it out of me.”
“Mila, this is huge!”
I shrugged. “Maybe…but don’t get too happy about it.”
Dinah frowned. “How do you not exp- ”
“Lauren’s dating Connor, Dinah. She’s very happy.”
“You don’t know that.”
“Uh, yes I do. She told me herself.”
“What did she say exactly?”
My mind began to remember. “Um, she said that she didn’t wanna label herself as his "girlfriend” just yet but when she’s around him she feels happy.“
Dinah seemed to be considering the information. "So they’re not really dating?”
“No. But that doesn’t mean I can just swoop in and steal his girl.”
“Lauren’s not anybody’s girl. Yet. If you don’t do anything, and fast, Connor will.”
“I know you’re right. But I just can’t bring myself to say anything. I literally lose my cool when she talks or when we’re together.”
“Aaaaw, lovesick Camila is back. I’ve missed her.”
Dinah sat down on the bed. “So. Tell me how it started.” Dinah requested.
Sighing, I said, “Well, I don’t really know. I’ve been having these feelings for a really long time but I think last night, when we were together, my heart kinda confirmed it.”
Dinah nudged my shoulder. “What happened last night?”
“Nothing. We were just talking about my favourite book and just hearing her talk made me happy. And then I realised why.”
Dinah smiled. “What are you gonna do?”
“I really don’t know. If I tell her it could potentially ruin our friendship. If I don’t I’ll die.” Camila shrugged.
“Well then, let’s go get your girl.”
“How do you mean?”
“We’re gonna hang out. The five of us. I wanna see if there’s any chemistry or 'sparks’.”
“What - now?”
“No, in 2020. Yes, now!” Dinah pulled her from the bed and walked her over to the door.
“Ugh, fine. But we’re getting pizza.”
Dinah trudged while I stopped in the doorway. Dinah asked her what I was doing. “I’m texting her.” The blush was evident on my cheeks.
C: HEY! dinah has called an emergency hangout…come to the pizza place(:
L: hallo! why am i not surprised lemma say goodbye to connor and ill be there
Annoyingly, I frowned at the text and showed it to Dinah. Dinah also gave an apologetic smile.
C: kay dont be late like you often are
L: excuse me? ill have you know im very puntual
C: hmm see why dont i believe you
L: im on my way to shut you up
C: ooh so scared mom help
And we were off, arms linking and laughter echoing.
-
We sat at our usual booth, Dinah making sure no one sat next to me. I rolled eyes at her, scared that the way she was acting was a bit too obvious. Normani and Ally were busy conversing while Dinah kept looking at the door.
As Lauren came in, Dinah nodded to me and made space for her. “Took you long enough,” Dinah stated.
“Yeah, sorry I was with Connor,” Lauren said while sighing. Dinah and I exchanged a look.
“You know I’ve been wondering…”
“Wait, so Dinah Jane thinks now, too?” Normani joked. “Lord the apocalypse is upon us.” This caused everyone at the table to giggle, Ally especially.
“Shut up, Mani. Anyways, Lauren. What’s going on with Connor?”
“What do you mean?”
Before Dinah could respond Ally started humming: “What do you mean? Oh oh…when you nod your head yes but you wanna say no…”
“Excuse my friend Ally, she’s very theatrical,” Normani laughed.
“Oh, I can tell,” Lauren smiled before continuing, “Connor and I are not dating. Pretty sure Camz told you. We’re just, uh, seeing things as they are.”
“Camz?” Dinah questioned.
I rolled my eyes again. “Yeah, Camila…Camz. Pretty similar, no?” Lauren admitted.
Dinah nodded. “Interesting.”
“Okaaay! Why don’t we order, huh?” I intervened.
“Yes please, I’m starving!” Ally chimed, signalling a waiter.
-
After eating, all of us headed back to Normani’s house. We had reached and were standing on the patio. Lauren turned to me with an exasperated sigh. “Your friends are hard to keep up.”
“Yeah, they are aren’t they?”
She smiled. “Well, I have to go now. Parents have their anniversary and Taylor and Chris are bugging me to come early.”
“Why?”
“We’re planning a romantic night for them. It’s a bit too extra if you ask me because they’re already out on a romantic dinner.”
“Aw that’s cute. I’ll see you later, then?”
“Yeah, definitely.”
As Lauren went off, I walked inside to the room where all three girls were in.
-
Narrative
The next day, after her parents’ dinner, Lauren went over to Connor’s house. He had invited her to 'hang out’ but Lauren felt nervous nevertheless. She always felt nervous around people. She wasn’t proud of it.
“Hey!” Connor greeted her with a kiss.
“Heyy,” she said and sat down. “Playing Call Of Duty as usual?”
“Ah, you know the drill. I have to complete at least one mission daily.”
“Right. So what am I going to do?”
“Oh, silly. I’m not going to play now. I’ll play it later.”
“That’s…very considerate of you.”
“Well, I am a very considerate guy.” Connor brought her into a kiss. In a short while Connor had Lauren lying on the bed, biting her neck vigorously.
“Connor, stop.”
“Oh, come on Lauren.”
“Please- I, I can’t.”
“We’ve been going out for a while now. It’s time.”
Lauren pushed him off of her. “You can’t decide when it’s time. I told you I’m not ready.”
“Still?”
“This isn’t something that you can do on a deadline, you know. I need time.”
“I gave you time. It makes me nervous that it’s taking you long.”
“What? Why?”
“Cause I fear you don’t like me enough.”
“That’s not true and you know it. I just need more time.”
“Stop saying that. It’s not helping.”
“Well then, what will?”
“Look, Lauren. I want to be with you. If you don’t then just say so.”
“I do.”
“Really? I can’t see any effort.”
“I’m sorry. I don’t know how to show my effort.”
“Either you are my girlfriend or not.”
“That’s it, then? No in-between?”
“No.”
And with that Lauren took her cue to leave. She tried hard not to let tears fall but she had just experienced her first 'heartbreak’. How could she not cry? She took to her safe haven, wanting to find some solace - that is, the library.
Camila’s POV
As usual I was sitting in the library. The girls had gone home after a while but I headed back here to read a bit. I was in my spot, reading 'The Book Thief’. There was a quote that struck to me like the waves of an ocean: “My heart is so tired.” Its so simple but equally powerful. All of a sudden I heard a voice; it startled me but when I looked to see who it was I smiled.
“At least someone’s in a happy mood.”
“What can I say? This place makes me happy.” I said while Lauren sat down next to me.
“Cool. It makes me happy, too.”
“But you’re not happy now, are you?”
“Not really..,” she sighed.
“What happened?” I gazed at her face trying to read her expression. “If you don’t mind me asking.”
“Connor and I 'broke up’. I mean we weren’t dating but like, it’s totally off now.”
I tried not to show my pleasure. I’m not sure if it worked. “Oh, Lauren I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be. It’s literally nothing.”
“You’re hurting. It’s something.”
“I guess because it’s the first time this has happened to me. I’ve never been with anyone before.”
“I understand.”
We sat there in silence for a while. As I continued reading I felt a head on my shoulder. I looked up to see Lauren resting; she was crying. I could feel her tears. “Hey, hey. Lauren.”
I stroked her hair, hoping to calm her. “It’s okay. Don’t worry,” I held her face in my hands. “It’s going to be okay.”
“I just- I don’t know what to feel.”
“You’re not supposed to feel anything. Just forget it. You’re going to be okay. I’m here.”
“So tell me what happened.” I said gently, after she stopped sobbing.
She cleared her throat as I lifted the book from the floor. “Basically I went to his house cause he said he wanted to hang out. We talked and he kissed me,” Lauren explained.
“But then it got serious so I told him that I wasn’t ready yet. In short, he gave me an ultimatum: either I be his girlfriend or I leave.”
My heart shook at the admission. “So you left.”
“Yeah, I left. What else could I do?”
“You did the right thing. You shouldn’t rush into this. It doesn’t require a deadline; it needs a lot of time, you know.”
“Exactly what I said.”
“How do you feel?”
“Well, not great. But better, I guess.”
I smiled. “Because of you,” Lauren said truthfully.
“You know I’ve realized that ever since we became friends my life has gotten bigger. In, like, terms of everything. I mean I made new friends, I had enough courage to talk to a boy and I finally found a mutual. You know what I mean?”
“Oh, stop it Lauren. That was all you.”
“Maybe. But I just want to say thank you.”
“Well, you’re welcome.”
“Oh my god you’re reading my favorite book. What part are you on?”
I looked down at the neatly placed book between my legs and remembered that I was, in fact reading. I cleared my throat. “Yeah! I’m at that part where the Mayor’s wife lets her into her library.”
“Ooh that’s where things get interesting.”
“Shut up, don’t ruin it for me.”
“I won’t, I won’t. I get how you feel.”
“Do you?”
“Totally. I remember once I was reading Allegiant and I was almost finished, right?”
I nodded. “And then my stupid friend so very selfishly told me that Tris dies in the end.”
“Hey! Spoiler alert.”
“Oops, sorry. I didn’t know okay?”
“Yeah-yeah.”
“So are you gonna go home soon?” I asked.
“Um, in a while. I just want to get some reading done.”
“Oh. Well I should go now. My mom’s probably freaking out.”
Lauren nodded in understanding. “See you tomorrow, Camz,” she said as I stood.
“Bye, Lauren,” I returned.
As I was walking away Lauren spoke, “Hey, Camila?” I faced her.
“Thank you.”
I was shocked. I started walking towards her while saying, “For what?”
Having sat back down, Lauren muttered,“For being there. For me.”
“Yeah, of course,” I smiled. “You’re welcome.”
“And thank you too.”
She raised an eyebrow. “Me? What for?”
“For becoming my friend. For coming into my life because it’s become better with you in it.”
I brushed a strand of hair behind her ear and gently stroked her cheek. I could feel her shivering at the touch but I kept my hold strong.
“I think I should say the same.”
I stared into her beautiful, spellbinding green eyes and she looked politely at mine. Seeing her in the dark made me lose all my conscious as I had no idea what propelled me to lean in. I closed my eyes when I watched her shut hers. There seemed be such a little distance between us but it still felt like a thousand miles apart. In a gentle touch my lips met hers and I pulled her in. I didn’t want to come out too fierce or forceful so I kissed her as slowly and as gracefully as I could. She hesitated at first but gave in nevertheless.
Her lips felt so perfect against mine. I felt her hand moving to grasp my neck for support and my hands moved down to her waist. Our bodies were attached to the bookshelf behind us; our hips and abdomens were in soft contact. I tried to pick up the pace and realized that Lauren was giving me full access to do so. I humbly put my tongue in her mouth and bit her bottom lip. I couldn’t help but hear a small moan from her. I was shocked to feel her biting my own lips after I granted her access.
I was enchanted. I didn’t know that there was heaven on earth. Was there? I didn’t want to think much and all I wanted was to continue kissing this beautiful girl in front of me. My conscious told me to stop immediately but my heart and my lips ached for more…
I started pulling away. “Uhm, I-I’m sorry.” I said completely out of breath.
Lauren hadn’t fully recovered from this too as I sensed her breathlessness. “No, I’m sorry.”
“I shouldn’t have done that,” I shrieked as I forced my body to stand up.
“No, no it’s okay. I’m sorry too,” Lauren had stood up now too.
I shrugged in panic. As I was about to respond I heard my phone ring. It was my mom. “Yeah, yeah I’m almost there.” I looked at Lauren. She looked so elegant and as much I as didn’t want to, I had to return home. “I’m sorry - that was my mom. I have to be home.”
I saw her nodding right away and I offered a sweet, I’m-sorry-I-kissed-you-out-of-nowhere-but-I-wanted-to smile and walked in the opposite direction. I heard her say, “It’s okay. I’m sorry.”
“Bye, Lauren,” I chipped and exited the door.
During the way my head was running a million miles. Had I really done that? If so, when the hell did I become so confident in doing that? Maybe because it’s Lauren, I thought. It felt…enchanting, I repeated this feeling in my head as I carried on.
A/n: finally tho! The story is progressing…I have a lot of stuff on my mind so stay tuned, loves! I hope you’re liking it so far because I honestly have nooo idea…would definitely appreciate feedback(:
The recent events have everyone depressed and shook. We’re all hurting right now and it’s taken a toll on us. I’ve been a fan for quite some time now and I just want to say that it will take time. I started this story as an interest which is why I will keep writing for as long as I want to because if you enjoy it, what’s the harm, right? Take care and Happy New Year!
